Easy DIY Paper Art | Make Your Own Framed Silhouette

Hey DIY fans!

Ready for a super cute and fun project? In our latest video, we're showing you how to create a beautiful framed paper-cut silhouette. This is a fantastic project for beginners and a great way to add a touch of handmade charm to your space.

Here’s what you’ll need:

• A self-healing cutting mat

• Thick black paper

• Our free downloadable template (available in A3, A4, or A5)

• A craft knife

• Craft glue

• An A5 frame

Once you have your materials, it's time to start cutting! Remember the most important rule of paper cutting: always cut the smallest inside details first [00:54]. This will keep your paper from becoming unstable. For those smooth, beautiful curves, guide the paper with your free hand instead of your cutting hand [01:43]. And don't rush! Take your time, especially with those close lines, to avoid any tears [01:56, 02:54].

After you've finished cutting out your design, simply glue the black silhouette onto a backing sheet and pop it into your frame [04:47]. You might need to trim the edges a little to get a perfect fit [05:19].
